HD: GB or GiB ???

I have a Pentium Centrino(mendicio)/500Mhz with 3 * NIC and a WDC WD100BA/2MiB. The HD is described as 10 GB and /proc/ide/ide0/hda/* reports a Physical (Logical) Geometry of 16383 (19386) x 16 x 63. The BIOS reports a "Manual" Geometry of 1216 x 255 x 63 => 1004 MB ( Disk is 1005 MB).
 
 The ASG V7 manual-en.pdf states the minimum requirement is 10 GB - The V6 was 8 GB!
 
 Attempting to install the ISO results in (?) sfdisk complaining about writing over the end of the disk ... 
 
 This occurs after verifying the RPM's.
 
 Do you really mean Giga (in units of 1,000) or should you be saying Gi (in units of 1,024) Bytes. The former, as stated, should allow me to install, the latter sais I have to use a different disk. --- Us poor people just do not buy things.

    The installer measures in 1024 units.  But I am curious since the actual HD installation requirements are slightly less than 10 GiB.  Can you post the installation log?  It is available as /var/log/.install.log.
