Why has it been so long since Authentium, IPS and Antispam has been updated. I am more concern about the Authentium which seems to never get updated. How can we rely on the gateway antivirus when it is seldom updated? Kaspersky updated almost every hour, and I know these were usually just updates to exisiting definitions but atleast they were keeping it up to date. Authentium seems to have a lax attituded to virus definitions as they don't like updating them during the weekend! Hackers and viri writers don't take a rest so why should antivirus firms? I know the Authentium engine is faster than Kaspersky but at what expense? Leaving your network vunlerable to new viruses simply because Authentium doesn't feel like updating on the weekend! Clamav updates at least once a day, everyday and it is an opensource project, not a commercial company.
Simply put, I would like to see more action from Astaro, to get the Authentium antivirus on par with Kaspersky detection rate. Right now I am relying only on the Open Source antivirus Clamav as it is more thorough at detecting viri.
Please will someone at Astaro find out what is going on with Authentium and why we are not getting up to date virus definitions and we we suffer from such poor virus detection performance.
Best regards,
Dayne
