So far in my testing of V7 I find that it uses the memory quite efficiently.. machines that were somewhat sluggish on V6 are faster on V7. I wouldn't worry about it.. heh heh.. ever run a WIndows 2000 or 2003 Exchange server? Those things use 99% of the memory in the machine by design!

It is Linux. Which utilizing ram would be far more efficient than swap. V6 for me never used more than 650meg of 1gig. Although an unnamed other firewall
product I have in use somewhere uses on average 60% of only 128meg.
That's jsut the way it works. The web security has more features than the old one. More features equal a larger codebase..larger codebase means more ram usage.
Astaro. When you guys get the time could you set vm.swappiness to zero? There's no need for the system to be dumping stuff into swap when it's caching 25% of available free memory IMO.
