Swapping eth0 and eth1 interfaces?

I have received a new server for Astaro use (V7beta). Each server has one gigabit card for LAN activity and one 100/BT card for WAN activity. On my old server, the gigabit card starts up as eth1 and the wan card starts up as eth0. All of my astaro configuration depends on this orientation.

Unfortunately my new server is reversed, where the gigabit card is actually eth0. Thus as soon as I attempt to restore my configuration from my old server onto the new one, the ethernet interfaces will be flipped.

I attempted to go into /etc/modules.conf and swap the aliases for the two hardware interfaces, but this only appeared to make problems worse.

Is there a preferred method for swapping eth1 for eth0 without having to jack up the configuration within the web interface with all the various dependencies?

Please disregard this query. Doesn't matter anyway as my gigabit card is DOA.

Lol, how easy things get solved.

For the easy way, you just would need a third card, so you can shuffle the ehtx numbers around.

Yep, agreed. Having an extra NIC in the machine makes swapping around NIC aliases a breeze. I just setup a DMZ using the third NIC in my ASG setup, and having a fourth NIC in the machine allowed me to re-assign a 10/100 NIC to the cable modem and free up the gigabit NIC's for the internal traffic subnets.

Without the extra NIC, I think I would have been required to completely RECONFIGURE ASG [:S]
