Installation won't start

hi,
i am trying to install 6.303 on new hp workstation dx7300 (Pentium D, 1 giga, 160GB Sata)
the boot process stops at "Uncompressing Linux... OK, booting the kernel." nothing happens after that.

when i choose 'classic' installation, i am able to finish the installation but when i restart for the first time, i get lots of errors finishing with: (0) kernel panic - not syncing fatal exception in interrupt

i read in some forums, that it might be connected to disabling APIC in the BIOS, but it seems i don't have this option.

    There may be a problem with your specific SATA controller, as the previous poster already mentioned.  If you are curious you can boot into something like GRML ISO (www.grml.org) and provide output of 'lspci -vvx', 'lspci -vvxn' and 'hwinfo --storage --log'.  Thanks!
