Won´t detect NIC`s on old Intel server board

Im having trouble with the installation of ASL 6.200 on an old Intel server motherboard. 

When the install is detecting hardware, the 3com NIC´s is not found. These are the same 3com NIC´s that we always use. 
However, the Intel onboard NIC is detected.

I think the problem might be that ASL does not support the chipset on the motherboard, but I find it very strange.
I dont know the modell of the MOBO, but it sports 2x 16-bit ISA, 4x PCI, 1x  68pin SCSI and a Slot1 400Mhz P2/3 processor.

The southbridge is a FW82371B and the northbridge is a FW82443BX.


Any ideas?

    It's probably a PCI compatibility issue if the motherboard is old and the nics are fairly new.

    Can you boot off Knoppix or similar to see if it pics up the nics? You can run lspci to find out as well.

    I found two older 3com NICs which I installed, and it worked. Looks like you were right [:)]

    I got another problem tho, after installing I cant boot. I get an error saying: "Error loading operating system"

    I tried different PIOs, DMA, LBA etc, but no go.

    Im getting tired of this old motherboard, but I dont wanna give up just yet. 


    Any ideas?

    I cant remember, but it doesn´t matter. I just ordered a new machine.
