how to change 1 of 3 nic´s?

hi there,

i´ve got a problem with my astaro:
the nic, which is handling my dmz with my mailserver seems to be corrupt.
i get ~50% loss wenn pinging the server, swapping the server with my 100% functional notebook does not make it better.

the interface is a 3com 3c905c-tx-m.
how can i swap the interface without installing astaro new?
i´m on 6.1xx, i didn´t update for ages...
can i change the nic to e.g. an realtek 8139 without problems?

if i export my configuration, change the nic, and then reinstall the firewall and reaply the cojnfiguration, is the new nic recognized als the same ethX?
can i just use my old config?

I think I understand your question.
The config knows the NICs as Eth0 1 2 etc. So if you reinstall your software it will be setup for the new NICs. You can then install/restore your config with no problems.

Remember you will lose your logs.

Yes, you can do that, though you may need to move cables around. You just need to add the proper driver for your NIC to /etc/modules when logged in via the console and reboot.
