config network ip

Hi,

I figured out some of my last problems, so I created a new thread for a new problem. I hope that's appropriate.

I couldn't logon to my machine via the web. So I logged on localy to the machine. I did an "ifconfig" and it showed my ip address to be 127.0.0.1. 

How do I go about setting the ip if their are no tools and none of the normal resources I use such as /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/if-eth0 (or whatever its called)?

    I have tested earlier versions of Astaro (ver 4 & 5) with just one NIC installed, and that worked fine. However, I haven't tried ver 6 on a machine with a single NIC. Unless they changed something it should still work.

    Mind you, you can not create a router with less than two network interfaces. I generally put four in a router.

    Here is a tip for you: Always use the built-in NIC on the motherboard for your Internal network. If you have more than one PCI card NIC installed in the machine, mark them on the rear with a permanent marker as to what they are used for (WAN, DMZ, etc.), so that you can maintain the same MAC addresses for each circuit, in case the PC running Astaro dies on you, and you need to move the NIC cards to a different machine and reinstall the software.
