Netmask shown as ???.???.???.??? when using PPOe?

Dear All,

yesterday I've switched from Cable to ADSL and set-up ASG with
PPOe (I have a fixed IP address, but Astaro suggested last time I leave it in DHCP in the settings...the provider will assign the IP automatically).

In fact ASG got the correct IP and Gateway.

Why the netmask is shown as "???.???.???.???"   ?

shouldn't be 255.255.255.255 ?

    I would agree with you. I have the same issue. My ADSL connection never shows the netmask which always puzzled me. I also suspect it doesn't get the DNS addresses either. It would be nice if it did, rather than having to keep track of the ISPs DNS address changes. My ISP - Bigpond seems to change them about once a year or maybe even more often, depends on which webpage you check.

    I have had a look at the PPPoE log and there is no mention of the netmask or DNS addresses in the supplied info or is that requested info. Might be a bug?

    Generally Astaro's interface does not shows subnet mask rather it should. However if you log onto the shell locally or via remote client, it displays the subnet mask which is 255.255.255.255. I know it's strange and it should be fixed by Astaro guys.
