I run ASL for several month without any problems. After I upgrade to 6.x
the system become very instable. I get several daemon not running notifications every day. Superior nacct, but also alicd. 3 to 4 times a day the systems seems to slow down or freeze. Browsing or ping does not work. I always need to restart the whole machine.
The PPTP VPN also doesn't work after the upgrade. I can build a VPN tunnel an access e.g. the intranet, but the conenction also get disconnected after a fews seconds. I am running a PIII 1,8 GHz with only 256MB, which was fine for ASL 5. I increase the memory up to 1GB, but this doesn't solve the problem.
Currently the system is watched by a remote power switch
(http://www.leunig.de/_pro/remote_power_switches.html) which reboot the whole machine if the no ping is possible to our webserver in the DMZ for more than one minute. What could be the reason for the instable system ?
