Is the Astaro Virus Scanner running?

Hello!

I just upgraded my Astaro from 6.203 to 6.300, the systen has not been rebooted as it was not required. If I take a look at the running processes, I see nothing of the new Astaro virus scanner, but there is still a process with "kav" in the path?

    Hi there, 

    yes the Astaro Virus Engine is running.

    But our new engine is not running as a dedicated daemon process like all other virus engines, it is linked as a dynamic library to our proxy processes.

    This means there is no overhead using the av scanning, like storing on disk, or trasmitting via tcp.

    So be not surprised if you see no process running, the astaro av engine is running as long as the matching proxy process is running.

    But what is this process 
    "/opt/kav/bin/aveserver -c /etc/kav/5.0/kav4mailservers.conf"?

    Is it something remaining from Kaspersky?

    I had to reboot after 6.300 up2date install..  CPU use had gone through the roof.
    I think a reboot after an up2date is always a good idea if you can do it.  But yeah, what Gert said as well [:)]
