DON'T update to 6.300

Hi,
6.300 ist a buggy Update (at least with ASG220HA Systems), do not apply it! It seems to have problems with socket handling, SSH, Webadmin will break after some seconds. HA systems will not work any longer after update (they don't see each other)

We went back to 6.203 and updated each HA member for itself. Now one ASG220 is running OK and we will establish HA this night again.

    We upgraded two ASG220HA Systems at a customers site. Since the upgrade the customer sometimes experiences network outages from a couple of seconds to multiple minutes. They cannot access the internet during this time. The second ASG220 does not take over during this time. The other problem is that webadmin cannot be accessed via Port 443 anymore. We had to change the port to someting else because OWA (Outlook Web Access) was not working anymore after the upgarde.

    I have upgraded our 320 to 6.3 and it seems to have broke our Novell SSO authentication.  We are only able to have one group in the profiles.  As soon as we add another profile for restricted access all internet traffic fails.  It is restored when the second profile is disabled.

    Our 425 pre-installed with 6.300. We're able to run HA, but with frequent failover restart. When upgraded to 6.301, HA poofed - master unit won't recognize slave unit and vice versa. Astaro need to work out this bug fast otherwise many businesses will be affected.

    Hi,

    it's the same with our HA on two ASG420. None of the machines recognized each other after updating to 6.301. 
    I'm now waiting for a feedback from our Service-Provider/Astaro.

    I had a similar bug when updating last weekend. Going from 6.202 to 6.203. I had remove HA from both systems and then set it up again. After that it worked  correctly

    So, does it cause any harm to downgrade versions for the sake of turning back on the HA option? Another thing, is it even possible to downgrade as the unit came pre-installed with 6.300?

    Just a quick update for those of you having problem with HA on version 6.301.  Our vendor managed to talk direct to Astaro and currently the workaround is to configure the next available port for HA. That means, if you have 8 port, and used up port 0, 1, and 2, use port 3 for HA. Using the last port for HA will cause the frequent failover restart.

    Anyway, Astaro should remedy this bug with a patch.

    Thanks for the tipp, it works [:)]

    But i think it's a little bit shameful for astaro that i have to get the workaround from the bulletin board and not from them. we pay a lot of money for support and nothing happens till now (i opened a service call 2 weeks before).

    That happens fairly regularly. We now postpone any upgrades of critical ASL devices for at least a week while monitoring the forum for fear of updates breaking things in unexpected and undocumented ways.

    I agree, once I was pretty excited about the possibility of Astaro in my workplace but now I'm glad that I never deployed it.  The software itself is too buggy and their support is lacking.

    Even with it's problems Astaro is still one of the better solutions available in terms of flexibility, features and price that I've seen.

    If they would fix the problems we have with it (yes, we always open trouble tickets) we would be very satisifed with it, but at this time stick with it as it is works for our usage.
