Thank, but I've read this thread just before - there isn't installed any of these described packages, so I can't uninstall them in order to get more free space... ;-(

If you find a solution to this problem, please post it.  I'm running Novell Security Manager 6.301 and having the same problem.  I haven't been able to find a solution with Novell.  I received one notification a day after updating to 6.301 that root was at 85%.  Now it's holding steady at 83%, and I haven't received any more notifications, but I'd like to know what caused the increase.

after the astaro support has checked the system we have 77 % usage now. They said that there were a view rather old pattern-files somewhere deeper under /etc/up2date/pattern... they erased these old files. Before this action took place we had 78 % usage. Hmm...
