Strange problem

We just had a really strange problem with Astaro 6.20 running HP DL320 Server. The system was running fine for some weeks, however this afternoon it stopped working. No internet access, no reply from internal interface (ping time-out), no access to the WebAdmin. After rebooting (while ping -t) the system came up, responded 2 ping's and then timed-out again.
We replaced the server with the cold-standby machine (same model, exactly same config) and had the same issues.
After rebooting 6 times it started working again and since the system runs fine. 
Is there now a way to troubleshoot what happend? If I look into the log's (e.g Selfmonitoring or Kernel messages) I don't find any entrys in the logs before the last reboot. Everything before is missing....
Any ideas?

    I have noticed a simular issue with my ASG220.  All of sudden it just stopped working.  After looking at the logs, I noticed that both my internal and my external intefaces shot up to 100Mbps for a little while and found the following messages in the Kernel Logs.

    I had to reboot a couple of time before it started working again.  It almost seems as though something cause a lot of traffic, the kernel settings for NAT ran out of connection tracking "overflow", and then on reboot it tried to do a system check on the log files (b/c there are many of them).

    Any one have any ideas?
