Hi,
Having some NAT / Internet connection issues. I have read a few post and thought I found the problem. My ASG220 can see the internet and update its files. I can not get to the Internet. I have a rule to allow all out to the WAN from the LAN. Allow all internal network out to WAN. I have NAT on.
WHat should I have set for my eth0 and eth1?
Right now I have a test circuit via a cable modem, but will be put on the final network later.
Internal LAN eth0 network is
192.168.1.XXX
Eth0 is set for now as 192.168.1.3, and will then be set to 192.168.1.1.
Subnet is a 255.255.255.0
I have NAT on NAT rule is rule type Masquerading, network is Internal Network and Interface is WAN. Is this correct for the NAT rule?
ETH0 settings are:
192.168.1.3
255.255.255.0
gateway = none
eth1 is
192.168.2.3
255.255.255.0
gateway is 192.168.2.1
the above settings are just for test config.
the real ip when we move it over needs to be
an IP of 69.25.204.18
subnet of 255.255.255.0
The device / T1 modem our cuttent file wall connects to (it is in bridge / transparent mode) is on IP 69.25.204.17 and it is the gateway of our SonicWall's WAN.
Based on a setting eth0 to 192.168.1.1
subnet 255.255.255.0
Gateway? (can only set one gateway - it allows either on eth0 or 1)
ANd setting eth1 to IP an IP of 69.25.204.18
subnet of 255.255.255.0
and I assume the gateway of 69.25.204.17
using what settings for NAT
with a rule to allow all Internal network out to anyplace on the WAN will let our LAN see the Intranet?
Packet filter setting is source = internal address, any service, to any destination - our LAN to Anywhere rule.
We have an ASG220, running release 6.201.
I have tried many configurations and am lost. I am looking for a base default to just get our LAN talking to the Internet and then add rules and build from there.
Sincerely,
Chad
