ExtNIC Cards stopped after 6.X upgrade DHCP/Static

I am trying to get my system upgraded to Astaro 6.X.  But my external interface won’t work with 6.X with previously working static or DHCP settings.  I have tested several different Intel and 3Com NICs all of which worked in 2.X through 5.X.

DHCP log
Activity Protocol 0 04993 xx.xx.xx.xx Lease offered to CID: 01:00:60:08:cd:77:17  packet 'R24827693'  until Thu, 02 Mar 2006 11:00:59 -0600. 220 ms.

Info Protocol 0 05004 xx.xx.xx.xx Offer to CID: 01:00:60:08:cd:77:17  timed out.

Astaro 6.X
dhcpcd[7409]: broadcasting DHCP_DISCOVER

and a minute later:

dhcpcd[7409]: timed out waiting for a valid DHCP server response


I rolled Astaro back to 5.015 from 6.105 and DHCP and static setting work on the external interface.  It accepted the previously offered lease that 6.X does not accept.

DHCP logs

What is blocking the offer and when static blocking traffic to the external GW in Astaro 6.X?

What am I doing wrong?  I even tried creating a definition and then allowing DHCP server in the Filter Rules but that did not work.

    You didn't enable the ICSA or Common Criteria Certification options, did you?  I've had problems with VPN connections when either of these is turned on... the advanced packet filter options these enable break a LOT of things... could be your problem.  Try a clean install, but do not enable either of these options.. other than that, I don't have a clue.

    I did not enable either of those options unless they are on by default in 6.X.  I did multiple 6.X installs with both restored and fresh configs.  The config tried is very simple (static or dhcp ext interface) maq internal behind external interface, filter rules allowing internal out, dhcp sever setup, and dns proxy.  All of which work fine in 5.X, fresh or restored.
