Set up with DSL Modem and Linksys Router

Hello all,

I am trying to configure ASG 6.1;  Software installed fine however it is recognizing the wrong nic as eth0. Weird?  The question is how should I connect my DSL modem?  The manual indicates that the connection should be made to a hub and from the hub to the firewall.  I am using a Linksys Wireless-G router with 4 LAN ports.  Does anyone know how to connect this up if it is actually a viable solution?

    I've seen the nics in the wrong order on some systems... don't worry about it too much.

    Hook the modem to the external interface on your Astaro firewall.
    You might need to use a crossover cable if it expects a hub, or there might be a switch on the modem.

    Thank you for your reply Barry.  I think I am still doing something wrong.  I connected my (Westell) DSL Modem ethernet port to eth1 on the firewall via crossover and was not able to access the internet.

    I'm not sure I have eth1 configured correctly.  How should the network be defined on eth1?  Your help is greatly appreciated.

    Depends.
    Does your modem use PPPoE?
    If so, configure your external interface that way.
