Force WAN IP release/renew?

Home User, Astaro 6.102, cable modem on WAN - DHCP obviously. I'd like to force the WAN IP address to release and renew, hoping to get another IP address.

I've tried unplugging the cable modem, shutting off the Astaro box, waiting a minute, turn both back on. WAN interface keeps same IP address.

I've also gone into Web Admin, Interfaces. When I click the Yellow "on off" button for WAN interface, complains about being part of NAT, proxy, etc. which is correct, but annoying. Also, nothing in Edit Interface allows for IP release/renew. 

I guess I could change the interface to static IP, save, then reset back to DHCP? But there's got to be an easier way - right?

    A lot of dynamic IPs are actually fairly static - dynamic just means that it can change without notice. Since the provider is in charge of handing out IP addresses, it depends on how they've got things set up at their end, but unplugging for a minute or two probably isn't enough to go past the timeout for the address assignment. 

    You could try leaving the modem unplugged for a longer period of time (half hour, an hour, overnight, etc.) if the lease expires at their end, you will probably get a new address.

    Ok, let me rephrase the question.

    Within Windows command line, you can release and renew an dynamic IP address with ipconfig. Same thing with Linux using ifconfig.

    Is there some way to do the same thing in Astaro?

    Rebooting the Astaro box should do the trick. However, unless you also swap out the Ethernet card used for the WAN connection with an identical card that has a different MAC address, the DHCP server at your Internet provider will still give you back the same IP address.
