reinsert slave in high availability

Hello,
ist there a procedure describing the reinsert  of a slave machine (build from scratch with automatic-backup config) in a high availability system?
Our Backup-System failed form hardware and we changed ist. The new system was patched to the version of the master, the backup-config loaded into the new slave and the high-availability entrys changed to the one of the old slave-machine (ip and name for the direct connection).
When powering on the new slave the master ist rebooting and all connections lost. Is there a mistake in the procedure?

    Hmm Possible you have the same IP for the Linkbeat after importing the Backup file - in V5 you have to enter a deticated Network so there is no problem to import the Backup file! At V4 and V6 i mean you have to define a unique IP for the Hartbeat Link! - Please check this!

    The other Way (and shure working way) disable the HA on one of your Boxes and reinstall on the ohter the same version of the master ASL! Then follow the Manual to activate the HA

    All you need to do to re-add a replacement to HA is this.

    Install the OS. Get it online, and install all up2dates. DO NOT RESTORE CONFIG FILE. Enable HA, give it the IP address of the SLAVE, not the MASTER, and select the correct interface.

    Once this has been enabled it will tell you it will reboot. It is now back in HA, and will copy the config from the Master.
