I wouldnt mind knowing this also. How have you got on ? Have you tested a modem to see if it works ? I have an Alcatel PCI ADSL modem I wouldnt mind using.
I havent seen anything in favour of, or against one being supported, so I can only assume not many people have tried, given the fact that ethernet devices are fairy cheap and reliable.
Version 7 does not support any sort of PCI, ISA, etc. Modem. As for Version 5, support for it (patches and up2dates) ended some time ago... and Version 6 is due to go to retirement before long. Why not just use an external DSL modem / router?

Right I can and have to use an external modem, but with an internal modem i would safe resources especially energy. 3watts 24/7/365 makes a lot of consumption :-(
