Upgrade from ASL4 -> ASL6?

You have to ensure you have all the latest Up2Dates for V4, backup config, Install V5, restore config, perform all Up2Dates, backup config, Install V6, restore config.

Seems like more work than just installing V6 and  reconfiguring.

May I ask what is prompting your decision to move to V6 from V4?

Rob: I have alot of rules and configurations for VPN etc. The FW is at our company.

Actually there's no special feature that makes me want to upgrade, but since i am 2 versions back i thought it's about time to upgrade.

Is there a reason not to upgrade? Are ASL6 not stable enough? I'm not updated enough to say anything about this version though [:)]

I can't provide any reasons not to upgrade and in fact  there may be many that would support it.

I don't run in a corporate environment... I only use ASL on my home ADSL line.
V4.027 is meeting my needs very nicely but I was just curious as to your motivation to upgrade.

One issue that I am not sure has been resolved is the implementation of QoS.
There have been numerous threads in the past about QoS in V5.x claiming that it did not function properly.

Not sure of the status of QoS in V6.x
