When adding extra memory do I have to do a

re-build. Today I tried adding addtional memory to the box, but nothing happened.
There are two possibilites for the lack of actionj and I think the main one is the MB doesn't like 2 memory cards or the memory was faulty. With a distinc possibility of both.
If I find some memory that does work, do I need to do a re-build or will the swap space automatically adjust?

    Thank you for your answers, that new motherboard I was hoping I wouldn't have to buy is coming shortly.
    I took the high performance matched pair from my linux box and the Astaro box got as far loading the boot sequence before it gave up. Back to one chip and works fine.

    Temporarily using my linux workstation/server as the Astaro firewall box. The origianl mb became to unstable. I didn't remeber how much of a pain that board could be. The new install went very smoothly except for not recognising one onboard LAN card. Found a 1997 Intel card which V6 says is something else, also my original LAN card has changed brands again.
    Working smoothly, no crashes during configuration. But I did notice one thing that is common to both MB, they don't like to restart from both console or webadmin.

    Another re-build due shortly after the new MB is installed.
