I'm really new at ASL and I have an issue with my 4 port nics working. My environment is a training center with multiple networks that I would like to keep separated. My server is a Intel SE7210TP-E with 2 on board nics, 1 32bit pci and 3 64bit pci slots. I have a single port nic in the 32bit one and 2 4-port adaptec ana-64044 in 2 of the other slots. During installation, ASL recognizes 11 nics which is what I expect. I configure 1 onboard as my Internal, and the other as my Public. They work fine.. then I configure the single port nic as my Company network and as DHCP, it works fine. Here is where I'm confused. I start to set up the ports on the 4-port nics for applications classes and technical classes, all running DHCP, I can ping them from the internal side but when I connect my classrooms, they don't get an IP and if I set a static IP, I can't ping any of them. I've questioned the compatability of my 4-port nics and the MB and I have a support ticket open with Intel for it...still no answer. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to figure this one out. Thanks
Doug
I just recieved this from Intel:
The Adaptec* ANA-64044 PCI Controller has not been validated on the Intel(R) Entry Server Board SE7210TP1-E.
Because of this we do not have best-known methods for supporting this hardware.
figures.
Any advice would be great.
Thanks again
Doug
