duplicate IP addresses causing system lock

my eth0 and eth1 interfaces were accidentally assigned the same IP though the web interface.  Now I can't get to the interface.  I have brought down eth1 and still no luck.  On a regualer LINUX box I can manually alter the ifcfg-eth1 file but the /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth# is not on the astaro filesystem.  If anyone could help out I'm really in a jam.

What I want to accomplish and would love to know is the following:

1. On the Astaro filesystem where the flat files for ifcfg-eth# are located.
2. How come # ifconfig eth1 del
-->where  = the redundant IP address I currently have isn't deleting the configuration, though I get no error and a prompt return.

Thanks for any support...
