Intel motherboard D865PERLK and SATA-raid

We have built an Astaro hardware using Intel motherboard D865PERLK. I have configures BIOS to use RAID and have setup a raid mirror set using 2 sata disks in the BIOS raid setup.

When running the installation for Astaro v6.001 the install process detects both sata disks and it says that the second is not used. Apparently, Astaro v6.001 cannot use raid, after installation the raid volume won't boot.

Is support for sata-raid possible?

    That is the normal behaviour of software-raid controller.
    Software-Raid controller can not build a physical raid.
    You create a raid in the bios, but actual the raid will emulate by a software and give the state to the operating system.

    We don't support such emulated raid-systems, because most of the software-raid controller doesn't have opensource drivers, which emulate the raid to Linux.
    Therefore we use only one disk.

    If you wan't to have a real raid system, please use a hardware raid controller like 3ware, icp or adaptec.
    Please have a look at our Knowledgebase which models are supported.
