MAC address spofing

Is there a way to spoof the MAC address of a NIC in ASL.

I have Comcast cable as my ISP. When they setup your service they regisiter ONE computer (one MAC address) on your account. In order to NAT that connection you must spoof the MAC address of the external NIC on your router. My cheap Netgear router and most all other retail routers have this feature. I would think that ASL could do this..... ???????? Thanks in advance for all assistance.

Hi,

no spoofing.

But where exactly is your trouble now. The only mac-address the comcast router sees is that from the external interface of the firewall. So for the comcast, there is only one system active in that link.

Yep, all traffic comcast sees is from your external nic connected to the firewall. This is the only MAC address comcast will see, so there's no need to spoof anything; just give comcast the external nic mac & hook the cable modem directly to the external nic on ASL

FWIW, power-cycling the modem resets the MAC address cache for most Cable ISPs.
