I have been noticing spikes in my CPU usage. I run v6 with a 2600+ AMD Athlon XP, 1GB DDR Ram and 40GB hard drive. I have HTTP w/AV and AS, POP3 with AV and SPAM, SMTP with AV, and SOCKS. IPS is turned on with Anomaly Detection and DoS protection turned on. Here is the cpu usage graph:
So my 2600+ AMD XP would run faster than the P4 2.8ghz with HT?
Thats the cpu I was going to get. But if you say that my graphs look fine then ok. I don't notice a lag or anything when my brother and I are playing Counterstrike and my mom and dad are using the internet, but the cpu starts spiking like that. I was use to the low cpu usage I had with v5. Thank you guys for the help. Should I hold off the CPU purchase then and see what happens?
Oh and while we are on the subject of hardware usage reports. What should be my swap usage? What level would cause and alarm. I sometimes see 2.3MB sometimes 11.4MB is that normal?
