Will V6 work with this machine?

Yes I know that. Although I want to know if my machine will be enough. It's obvously a bit below the min-specs.

Ok, what does  minimum recommendation mean: The absolute basic requirements in order to run Astaro v6 stably! You could probably try and will probably fail miserably. You wanted my opinoin...you got it.

the needed hardware heavily depends on the functionality you use of ASL.

if you only do Firewall/VPN, than a PII-300 MHz is fine.

If you add CPU intensive applications like IPS  or EMail virus and spam scanning you need a faster cpu.
and if you want to use http virus scanning with minimal delay, 
than a even faster one.

Our HW recommendation expect that all functionality is on.

But don't try to use a minimum HW at a location with 250 users, that will not work.

In your case i would give it a try, depending on the amount of clients, this could be ok.

I'm running V5 on an Athlon 650 with 384 MB of ram and saw memory usage go down somewhat when testing the V6 betas, with CPU usage being about the same (running the same config and not turning on any new features). If you are just using the same functions as before, you will probably be OK. 

If you have a spare HD arround, back up your V5 config, put the spare HD in and install V6 to it then restore the backup and see how it goes. You can always plug the HD with V5 back in if things prove unworkable.

It's now installed. Working great,  even faster than V5.
