Dear Astaro Experts,
I have a Cable Modem (cablecom) internet connection thru the provider's router that assigns automatically a Public IP address to any Interface connected.
This allows my astaro box to have a public IP directly assigned to the public NIC (in my case ETH2)
The problem I'm experiencing is that the public interface (ETH2) has problems renewing the IP address ... my fear is that ASL is keeping the same address even if expired or not renewed (basically the IP didn't change for the past 6 months ...even after replacing the cablemodem!)
this make me think that my ASL somehow got stuck with the old address. I've tried to change the NIC to ETH1 (free interface) and put it back to ETH2 to see if it would change anything).
The result is that now that the public interface cannot manage to get an IP... I have ???.???.???.??? in the IP address field... and nothing happens.
Pls Note that EHT1 and ETH2 are from different vendors... but both of them has the same problem.
How should I proceed? replace the NIC card or the problem lies elsewhere? Should I enable any ARP or other options in the NIC configuration?
