]I have two identical boxes with Intel P4s with a Supermicro P4SCI mobo and an E7210 chipset. They use PCI-X 64 bit architecture to run two internal NICs, one Intel 82547 GI CSA and one Intel 82541, both Gigabit LANs. To that I have added an Adaptec 6915 Starfire 4-NIC card (ANA620xx). (what other hardware specs are needed for diagnosis?)
When I set up interfaces for eth0 and eth1 only (internal only and HA on Intel NICs) and run HA, everything seems to work fine. The moment I add an interface (whether before initiating HA or after) to one of the PCI NICs the master forces the slave to power off. At first I thought this was due to there not being any patch cables in the NICs, but I get the same results with a simple switch set up with cables running to each piece of hardware.
Without HA I seem able to use all 6 NICs, creating interfaces for each and bringing them up without issue.
All 4 NICs on the Adpatec card use the same IRQ. I can not find any way to assign unique IRQs to these 4 NICS whether in the BIOS or through Astaro's linux distro. They are unique from the two internal NICs and I have turned off serial, parallel, audio devices in the BIOS as well as disable APIC and ACPI. I have additionally installed Astaro in classic mode -- all ideas from previous board posts.
I have also tried replacing the 4-NIC Adaptec card with a single NIC Netgear FA311 and reinstalled Astaro with the same results. As a self-proclaimed n00b (although fairly intelligent) with both Linux and Astaro, I feel I need some direction before plodding on any further.
So does anyone have any pointers?
