Installed Additional NIC

Heya all

I've added a 3rd NIC to my ASL box to setup a DMZ, but I'm not sure how to get Astaro to recognise it. 

When I go into interfaces it only shows the previous two NICs, but not the new one. How do I get Astaro to see the new card?

I've done a search and the only post I found about this said to reinstall Astaro (as editing the modules.conf does really do anything, which I've tried). Is this really the case? There's no way for Astaro to find new cards?

    a search would have been helpful, anyways there is no plug'n play functionality. One way to add a third card would be a reinstallation - be sure to have a working backup file :-) 
    Second would be to modify /etc/modules.conf accordingly.

    Hi Cyclops - the search I did do said pretty much what you're saying, either reinstall ASL or edit the modules.conf. 

    I did edit the file, but it's a different card than what I have in the system already, so I'm not sure of the name of the driver. I tried adding eth2 and using the same driver name as one if the previous installed cards, but nothing. 

    And regardless, the other post that edited the modules.conf said it didn't work anyways. 

    But there's really got to be a workable way of doing this. I can't believe that if you add a new NIC to ASL you have to reinstall the entire system. That strikes me as quite sad. [:(]

    maybe it would have been helpful to mention the NIC model and even better the chipset it uses . I am sure that here is someone arround knowing which driver to use

    and if you aren't sure, you can look at /proc/pci
