Moving [5.200] to new computer

I want to move my current Astaro 5.20 setup to a new computer with different NIC's. Is there anyway to restore a backup on the new computer and have things work? Is it just a matter of editing modules.conf and then rebooting or do I have to start from scratch?

    This question is asked about once every month. Use the search function!

    1. Create a backup of your running system using the backup function within Webadmin
    2. Install ASL 5.2 on the new machine, your different NICs are (hopefully) found by the setup program
    3. Use Webadmin to restore your backup. Your NICs are referred to as eth0, eth1... as in the old machine. You just have to be sure to plug them right.

    That should be it, worked for me.

    So Astaro does not care what kind of new NIC's that I will be using, it just cares that they are in the order that I want to use them in. eth0, eth1, eth2 and the like?

    (New NIC's that are on the HCL that is)
