Getting flooded with Virus Pattern Up2Date message

Did your's start one hour after your system updated to 5.202?  Mine has been doing the same thing. I find it hard to believe that the new virus definitions have been released every hour for the last 4 days.

Unless the fact that the system updates Virus Definitions even if you don't have a virus licence is new in 5.202, and its normal to get this notice everytime the virus update runs whether or not new definitions were there, then I think there is a problem...

I don't mind getting all of the emails, its just the fact that they started right after updating to 5.202 that bother me.  If its normal to get an email at what ever update interval is set for virus def updates, then I guess all is ok, but it seems suspect...

I rather get lots of notifications I can easily deal with (outlook rules) then viruses due to old patterns. FYI, there are some virus epidemics going on in Europe...

I have rules for the notifications, the volume of emails isn't a problem.  If the emails are valid then I welcome them, I was just worried that there was a problem with the Up2Date service after updating to 5.202.

Support also pointed out recent virus outbreaks as to the possible reason why so many updates are occuring...guess I will give it some more time...

I had auto-update disabled for a while, but I know I wasn't getting them before in 5.200

It seems the list of fixes for ASL is getting ahead of the developers.

I'd recommend creatinga  client-side rule for these posts and either send them to a external file for later use or delete them outright.

I've been saving mine for now.
Getting mail makes me feel loved.
