2 Clients connect to ASL (3 NICS) + using ADSL

Hi,

i have ASL 5.2 installed with 3 NICS.
2 Clients are connected directly to ASL.The DSL-Modem ist also connected directly to ASL.

I have set up ASL with DSL and one client and everything is fine.
Internet works and ASL is working fine so far.The client has a static IP (192.168.2.3) and eth0 (192.168.2.1) too.The IP for DSL is dynamically a provided from ISP (T-Online).

But now i want to connect the second client directly to ASL (3 NIC).But how can i do that??
I have given the client a static IP (192.168.2.5) so far.

But if i try to add the 3 NIC in ASL (Network-->Interfaces) and add it as a "standard ethernet interface" with static IP (192.168.2.2 ; Netmask 255.255.255.0; Gateway none) he adds it, but i couldn´t connect anymore to webadmin or go into the internet (---->reinstall ASL  [:S])

The last thing i saw before i couldn´t connect anymore was in Definitions--> Network, that he used the same "Internal (Network) Interface up  192.168.2.0/24" like my first internal network did.But i never told him to do that....

What did i do wrong?Can anyone tell me exactly what do to, to be able to get into the internet with all 2 Clients and the 3 NICS???

I´m a noob, so please explain it easy (HowTo?)

    What is the reason for using the 3 NICs?
    You are using the same SUBnet?(192.168.2.x)

    If you want to seporate the users over NICs you need another SUBnet like 192.168.3.1/24  with Gateway none ....and the user a static IP like 192.168.3.50

    If their is no reason for separation put them al behind the internal interface 192.168.2.1 with ip's 192.168.2.50,192.168.2.51 and so on!

    The Reason for the 3 NICS is simple.I don´t have a router or a hub! 

    I want to make it possible that all 2 clients can connect to the internet and to each other.There shouldn´t be any restrictions.

    But how do i have to set up the 3 NIC in ASL?

    If i set it up as "standard ethernet interface" with static IP (192.168.2.2 and Netmask 255.255.255.0 with no Gateway) he hangs up and i have to reinstall!

    I just want to now how i exactly have to set everything up that it works.

    Hi,

    You can't use the same Subnet on a differant NIC, thats why it hangs up (Red error on top off screen, or not?)
    Why not buying a cheap hub/switch?.......second hand!

    You can config the 3rd NIC with say: 192.168.3.1/24 with no gateway and the user(2nd) with static 192.168.3.50.
    Later making rules that 2nd NIC can do any to 3rd NIC vice versa.

    O.k., understood.

    I made it like you said and DSL works fine on all two PC´s because i have added a second DSLMasq.

    But what do i have to do exactly to be able to make it possible to get a connection between the two PC´s in lan? (copy files...etc?)

    Oke,

    What is the OS on these systems?
    This is why i said buy a cheap switch or hub 10 bucks or so....
    and put both pc's on the internal network, easy to manage

    now you have to add rules to allow , from subnet1 to subnet2 en visa versa....
    add a extra ip adress to you locale NW-device , if you got 192.168.2.100 add 192.168.3.100 , for the other pc:192.168.3.50 add 192.168.2.50!
    You can define these pc's in networks!

    But i would buy a switch  or from the newspaper/internet in your area.

    I´m using Windows XP Home on both Clients.Is that important?

    I have to agree with SilverOne, getting a cheap switch or hub will make life much easier (I've gotten a 5 port 10/100 switch for $15 after rebate). 

    Otherwise, the key is to make sure each NIC has it's own subnet.
