SATA support status

Many of us wish for this, but no word from Astaro on the subject so far.

Specifically, I would like to see the Astaro Linux distribution support the Promise FastTrak IDE controllers, both the ATA and SATA versions, so that systems can be built with IDE RAID1 mirrored drives.

Don't worry. Astaro is working hard on SATA support, even if there is no official statement. I assume SATA support will be included in V6.

SATA disk support will be included in v6.0. Not sure which controllers will be supported though.

I think alll of standrad S-ATA controllers will be supported but the key question is which S-ATA RAID controllers will be supported.

did you try version 6 BETA to work with your S-ATA controller. In version 5, use legacy mode in your BIOS.

No, I didin't try ASL 6 Beta [;)]

The last PC I installed (DELL PE 420 SC° has not features with SATA to en(dis)able this mode [:(]

Wait for this release 6 to come official ASAP !!!
