cannot get dynamic ip address from ISP

double post unsure where this would go?
sorry

i cannot no matter what i do get a dynamic ip from my ISP
through astaro, but if i use the same nic card in windows and cable in the same port of my switch i get a ip?
ive got everything set to dhcp and as a standard nic

should i set the gateway on the internal nic or external ?
and is there documenation on getting some basic setup of this ?

why is astaro not getting an ip ?

Hi

i thought i had a similar problem.
It resolved itself.
The process i went through was to set a static IP address then change to dynamic.

I have a feeling this wasn't necessary, but I haven't confirmed this. Patience may be the cure.

Try selecting dynamic for Address Netmask & Gateway. You may find that the interface will then be advertised as 'Down'. Switch to a separate screen (Intrusion Detection for instance) then return to Interfaces.

This is roughly what I did and ASL picked up the addresses needed.

tried it many times through out this week and no luck??
even tried replacing the nic card.
