MBR Error after install?

Hi All,

this weekend i started to install astaro on my machine (pIII 733, 256mb, 40gb) everything went good during the install, but after that the machine has to be rebooted.. 

Nothing happened, except 01 was printed to the screen for about 255 times.. (looks like 255 for me), after that the system freezes, and it doesn't boot into astaro (v5..)

anybody?

    Assuming IDE hard drive:
    try changing the IDE access mode in the BIOS (LBA, Large, whatever) and re-installing.

    Also, possibly check for a BIOS update, or try a different size HD.
    Lastly, try a different motherboard.
