Changing name on my internal nic ???

How do I change the name of my internal nic ????
Astaro doesn't let me do that, all I get is this :

You cannot deactivate or delete the current management interface. Access WebAdmin on a different IP address to turn this interface off. If this is the last interface, you must create another one first.

Why doesn't it let me change the name on my internal nic ??
I am not trying to deactivate or delete it ????

    A rename does an implicit delete.

    If you can't get to the webadmin from your external interface, this is a case where command-line editing at the console comes in handy.

    I haven't done this on 5.2 yet; others can confirm it is no problem, but if you  are a commercial implementation of Astaro this should certainly not be done during your production hours.
    • Backup your config
    • Log onto console
    • Look at the /etc/wfe/conf directory; there is a file with itf (for interfaces) in its name; edit it with the simple joe editor, and change the interface name You might have to also change other entries in files in this directory if they refeence that old interface name. Inspect each one with the less command; it will be good for you since you'll learn more about what's going on 'under the hood'...

    I do not recomment to change the name of the interface using command line, since the confd may panic ... . Change the name of the interface by accessing the external!!!

    I have had the same problem in the past. I think i resolved this by add an Subnet from the internal Netork as alias to the internal nic. i connect from this to asl and delete and readd the new internal interface with the correct name.
