Install ASL 5.100 on IBM xSeries 306 Problem

Problem:

When the system boots up from the installation cd (current Image 5.100) it hangs at the following point:

hdg: Probing with STATUS (0x00) instead of ALTSTATUS (0x50)
...
...
...
hdg: attached ide-disk drive
(at this point the system freeze, and only hardreset work)

When we remove/deactivate the disk drive, the system will start normaly and the install-screen whill appear. 

Does someone have an idea, how we able to install the system ?

ASL 5 does not support SATA.  See if your sata ports can be put into an emulation or compatibility mode that will make them talk like a regular ide drive.

I have also a prob with a ibm 306.

When I active raid on a ibm 306 and sata it say that It haven't got any disque drive (normaly it virtualise scsi)

And I have the same ibm 306 but with SCSI drive and when I active hardware raid asl don't see any drive.

could asl guy add linux driver for supporting this adaptec raid card (internal one in all 306)

all needed is here for sata and scsi

Hi,
i have removed the S-ATA backplane from the end of the Drive-Cage and installed a normally ATA Drive as Slave. (CDROM is Master / connected to the primary ide port) 

This works fine without any problems.
