Checking the speed&Duplex of my nic's

Hello all,
Bit of a trivial Linux question.
How can I check the ASL Speed&Duplex of its nics?
I know the mii-tool command, but it says it is not supported with current drivers.
Is there any other command to check it? if not should I update the nic drivers manually or ask for a feature request?
The server is DL380, and its nics are: NC3163

    Hi SecApp,
    The ifconfig -a command does not reveal the speed and duplex of the nic, it is only intended to view the layer 3 configuration and the flow stats (at least thats what I know), Are you familiar with any flag that will show me the Speed/duplex with the ifconfig command?

    Try dmesg, you might find the interface status messages in there after a reboot.

    or restart the nics with ifdown/ifup, and look at /var/log/messages

    If it's not on Astaro, you can try porting this:

    mii-tool

    Sure would be nice to have this feedback on the web admin, no?!

    "mii" is "shipped" with ASL 5 and gives you the needed information:

    asl:/root # mii-diag eth0
    Basic registers of MII PHY #24:  3000 782d 0040 6176 0541 41e1 0003 0000.
     The autonegotiated capability is 0140.
    The autonegotiated media type is 100baseTx-FD.
     Basic mode control register 0x3000: Auto-negotiation enabled.
     You have link beat, and everything is working OK.
     Your link partner advertised 41e1: 100baseTx-FD 100baseTx 10baseT-FD 10baseT.
       End of basic transceiver information.
