ASL 5.1 with QDSL Home

Has anybody in Germany QDSL Home with ASL running?
My ASL box won't connect at all via PPPoE or the connection breaks down after a few minutes while about 50% pings are lost and ASL can't download pattern updates.

Please help  [:(]

    Hi,

    check your MTU size.. I have in mind that QDSL uses different settings ... or am I wrong ??

    Hi!

    I've already tried several MTUs between 1400 to 1500, even with 1000 no traffic is possible at all...

    Does QSC use another type of PPPoE? Sometimes ASL won't find the Access Concentrator, then it couldn't find the right channel, after a minute or two everything is fine again during PPPoE authentication but 30-40% pings are lost  [:S]

    BTW:
    Using Windows XP and QSC's PPPoE client works all right, so it doesn't seem to be the modem or the line itself.

    I asked QSC about the right MTU settings. It should be 1492!

    which means that the line has been disconnected from your ISP. 

    Anyone else an idea? Let´s help this user ...

    It sounds like a timing setting in Astaro's pppoe script needs adjustment (since the other device works).

    Maybe Astaro has a recommendation?

    P.S. Make sure you used the same cables with the XP setup. A bad crimp can rule your whole day...

    Hi! First of all, thanks for all your efforts, but I found the problem now: the hardware was too slow!!!
    ASL was running on a Celeron 500 with 640MB RAM. I reinstalled ASL on a 2.53GHz P4 with 512MB, installed the backup and everything went fine from the first minute on.

    What I don't understand is, how others are running ASL on CPUs with 350 MHz...
