Single to SMP upgrade

Hi,

We're using a Dell Precision 450 with a single Xeon 2.4 GHz for an Astaro 5.100 protecting a 700+ computer network.

The actual CPU (without Hyperthreading) is used to its limit, so we wanted to activate HT to see if performances were better, but we obviously installed ASL in without SMP support as the "second" processor isn't seen after HT activation and reboot.

Is there a way to install the SMP support without fully reinstalling ?

Also, is it better to install a second Xeon processor ? Will Astaro take full advantage on 2 hyperthreaded processors ?

hi,
for an upgrade to a smp system u can easely reinstall astaro with the smp kernels, and just upload the backup after the instal.
and smp with hyperthreading is working fine with astaro [:)]
