after installing 5.10 I restored the backup made with the 4.250 and .... it won't work. eth1 is the external interface and the gateway set is not shown - except in the configuration page of the device. I have looked into the itf.conf and there it is set up correctly. So the connection to the world is not working.
So i decided to install all the crap from scratch. After clean install I uploaded the license key for ASL 5 appliance. Then I set up the external interface - now the gateway is shown up on the main page of the interfaces.
Okay then set up the http proxy and made a 'internal -> external any/any' rule. Then made a masq-rule 'internal network -> external interface'.
DNS ......... standard stuff .....
Nothing works. I can ping the IP, assigned to us from our ISP but that's it.
After re-installing ASL 4.17 and installing the patches everthing works out fine.
Any hints?
