You do not need the console after installation. The complete management of the machine is done using the web frontend. Modifications done via the console are not supported by Astaro. Regards, andreas
I understand the console isn't needed for the regular use, however at least I should be able to see the boot-prompts and eventual errors. As my LCD-monitor doesn't support the Astaro-default-resolution, I can't read anything. I tried to access the machine via a browser, but didn't succeed. So, I assume there is probably a (eth0) error, but I can't see which one. Should I understand there is absolutely no way to use a functionkey to start the machine with a changed resolution ?
Hi, i had the same problem and i've just resolved it !!! first : -make /boot writable in /etc/fstab second : - reboot third : - modify /etc/lilo.conf, for label default modify vga = xxx by vga = normal, and splash=xxx by splash=0 four : - type /sbin/lilo five : - reboot, this might be OK six : don't forget to re-set filesystem in read-only for security !!! Bye [;)]
