I plan on VIA EPIA PD Mainboard with 1000 Mhz C3 processor and 256 MB DDR Ram. I will use VPN with IPsec enable. Wonder what is the IPsec AES 256-bit throughput?
Mine is runing on a EPIA-V8000A with 256Meg SDRAM and 6.4 Gig drive and I am having no problems so far. No problem at all loading it. I bought the MB and case from www.servercase.com

partially agreed - some times i run a little bit nervous with the webadmin - but what's the difference receiving an email after one or five seconds after sent?
My ITX board has an 800Mhz Proccesser and 256Meg Ram. I don't think it's slow, But to be fare I have not run the same config on a regular ATX Intel or AMD board so maybe. It is only a home use License and protects my IIS and Exchange server plus clients. I only have the Web Protection running as I have GFI Mail Esentales and GFI Mail Sucurity running on the Exchange server. I have the HTTP proxie enabled and the IPS rules on the internal interface which only sees HTTP and FTP incoming from the internet. I love the why I can drop IIS attacks and see them daily. I might enable VP on the SMTP Proxie down the road but don't know yet. Other than the configuration I would say that the ITX board and it's small foot print makes it ideal for a small foot print firewall.
