Client system looses http to Internet

I am testing ASL v5.1.  I have it set up and working seemingly fine with one xp pro laptop.  Trouble is that after some period of time (undetermined but at least an hour or so) the client system can no longer browse the Internet via IE.  It can ping through the ASL box to external IPs but cannot ping an external server.  nslookup resolves server names to ip addresses fine.  The system is getting its ip from DHCP on the ASL box.  The ASL DNS proxy is enabled and apparently working fine.  A re-boot of the client laptop solves the problem for a period of time but the problem will come around again for sure.  Any ideas?

    Sounds like a client PC issue. Try putting another PC on the network to troubleshoot and see if you can access the Internet from it when the laptop can't.

    It appears in this situation that the client system cannot reach the ALS dns proxy after a period of time.  When I set dns in the client to the ISP's dns servers the connection stays up.  Any idea why the ASL dns proxy works for a particular system then stops working?

    Please post settings and logs of the dns proxy.
    Are you able to resolve Names on console on ASL? Just ping a host and check if it resolves.
    Are there other gateways? Or some routings? Or just a very simple directly connected laptop?
