Install on 4GB hard-disk?

Hi!

How can I install ASL 5.024 on a 4GB harddisk? I don't can't buy a bigger one for testing, and I don´t think that 4GB fit in a 250MB ISO-image, so there must be some GB free space even on a 4GB disk. And no, I don´t need that much log-file space and not that big (proxy-)cache and so on.

Any hint would be appreciated!

    No, it will not fit. Have a look at page 19

    Minimun is 8GB.

    Hello!

    Thanks, I know that they say there is a need for 8 GB minimal disc space. But I don't believe it won't work with 4 GB. I think they set this limit to be sure that the harddisk won't overflow from log-files and so on...
    Actually, there are 180MB of RPMs in this ISO-image and a 18MB tar-file. This fits on a 4 GB disc. It would be nice if someone would tell me what parameter to use at boot-up time to work without this limit. Its too time-consuming to patch the iso-image...

    Does anyone know if the 'bootstrap'-file in the initrd.* in the iso-image actually is freely available in source, or do I have to decompile it myself? thx!

    perhaps it will fail install totally

    tried to install astaro 5 which runs astaro 4  fine on the following hardware and failed badly==does not meet the requirements errno

    HP NetServer E 45 
    64 mb ram
    3.8 GB scsi disk
    3 eths
    and a lot of finger crossing
    actually it has ran pretty smoothly so far

    doing just basic port forwarding, shielding for 20+ localnet + 4 DMZ machines

    Astaro creates partitions based on % size of the hard drive, some will be too small.  Please give up on trying to install on a 4GB drive.

    Even 8GB is kind of marginal.

    I already run in trouble to applay some version update with a 20GB (or 30 ?)HD. Update was failing if more step as same time was done, because of to small update partition. Just save your time and get a bigger HD !
