DELL PowerEdge 750

Has anyone tried installing ASL on a Dell PowerEdge 750?
They are on offer from dell and I would like to use one or is it not worth the risk?

    I'd be a little worried because it uses SATA instead of IDE.
    Also, it's hard to tell what SCSI chip they're using (there are lots of different PERC controller chips).

    Astaro's Hardware Compatiblity List (HCL) is  HERE, but I don't see any recent Dell models in there.

    You could always use a PCI scsi or ATA controller if there's room for the cabling.

    I'm running on a PE350, but it's ATA not SATA.
