Best way to upgrade?

I am going to upgrade a system from ASL3 to ASL5.

I got the new license from MyAstaro

Can I just make a backup, install ASL5 and then restore, or what is the best practise?

    hm no u can't go to V5 directly.
    only one version a time so u need to go to version 4 first and then go to version 5.

    u can do an reconfigure from scratch if the configurations is not to complex, this is probably also a better way to learn how V5 works and what new features it has.

    Bert, I agree. Also when you have a complex installation, it is better to print out the old configuration and to enter it completely new. Only then you'll find old entries, that aren't used any longer.
    Another nice feature ist the comment-function for many tricky entries. The grouping-function for packet-filters is also very nice.
