Hello. I don't know if it works, but I guess, it's no good idea to install such a system on a flash drive. The /var/log-path is used very often and the file-allocation tables are rewritten very very often. And flash has a limited lifetime. You can write one memory cell only for about a million times. If the cells in the file-allocation area are perhaps rewritten 10000 times per day, the flash will be defective after 100 days. The only way would be, if you can switch the complete logging off and put other parts, that are rewritten very often to a ram-disk. But I guess, this feature isn't supported by astaro. Why don't you want to install on a HDD? There are several very very silent drives, like the 2.5" notebook-drives from Fujitsu or the WDs 3.5" 8MB cache for desktops. Regards, Thomas
